Mati Town: Hometown of Sweet Oranges and Sauce-flavor Chinese Baijiu
Mati Town of Gulin County Luzhou City Sichuan Province in China, is the source of ancient Yi ethnic group culture and the hometown of Lady Shexiang, an outstanding female politician in the early Ming Dynasty of China. It is also a place where the Chinese Workers’ and Peasants’ Red Army passed during the Long March, and is known as the “source of ancient Yi culture and the hometown of sweet oranges”.
Mati Town is renowned for producing the “China Famous Fruit” Mati Sweet Orange(navel orange) and Gongxiang brand sauce-flavored Baijiu. It is a “National One Village, One Product Demonstration Town” designated by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of China, a “National Strong Agricultural Industry Town” named by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and the Ministry of Finance of China, also a mid-stream sauce-flavor Baijiu production base on the left bank of the Chishui River.
